Our Old Door Art
When I first painted the room, this wall looked too blue and I was hoping to get something to put on it that would tone it down but also not cost very much. Soon I remembered that we had this old door in the basement. So with some extra white paint I had and some cheap frames, I was able to have a huge, virtually free, piece of art! Since everyone is using old doors these days to decorate, I thought I might be able to pull it off. It was Nicky's idea to mount it on the wall, and I'm happy with the way it turned out. And it solved the problem of the too blue which was the original purpose. Plus, if you didn't notice already, I love putting up pictures, and this game me lots more room to put some. :-)
Before...
This is the last room that I redecorated because even though wallpaper is not my favorite, I really didn't mind the wallpaper. However, it started coming off and had some tears in certain places so I decided the time had come. Obviously this is not a necessity, but I enjoy decorating and making places warm and inviting. I'm especially glad to have the dining room done because we like to have people over for dinner a lot and it is nice to have a fresh and beautiful place to be. (The picture to the right was taken before we moved in.)
We are so thankful to my Mom and Dad as well who provided this beautiful furniture for us. My dad gave us his old table and chairs and my mom couldn't fit her beautiful hutch into her new condo so she offered it to us. What a blessing!
