Our Cooked Meal with a Salad
Our Weekly Dinner Menu
(All of these meals are with a salad.)
1.
Brown Rice with Water-sauteed Veggies. We usually do broccoli and red pepper with cashews. Then we spray Braggs Liquid Aminos (healthy soy sauce) on top.
2. Steamed Golden Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and a Vegetable:Cabbage, Peas, Asparagus, Green Beans...etc.
3. Brown Rice Pasta with Cauliflower and Red Pepper Sauce:We steam the cauliflower and then I mix buzzed red pepper with tomato paste and herbs. Sometimes we just Mix water, tomato paste and lots of steamed veggies and herbs together as well.
4. Soup:I love making soup. I usually make it either with beans, lentils, or potatoes and then put in lots of veggies and some seasonings. If you keep it simple it usually tastes pretty good. We always make enough to have some for lunch the next day.
5. Quinoa with Water-Sauteed Veggies:We do the same as #1 but have Quinoa and a bunch of different yummy veggies. Sometimes I like to put avocado on top with lemon instead of Braggs.
6. Taco Salad: Every Sunday we make the Farmer Version of Taco Salad. We love it. I make Brown Rice and put in celery and other veggies and Basil and then lots of Tomato paste to make a "Mexican Rice." Then we make homemade guacamole and a big salad and put it all together. Then for guests I set out some vegetarian chili, chips, sour cream, cheese, and salsa.
Our dinner meal is usually really simple as well. I usually fix the same things each week and then one day I might make a special meal. That makes it so easy and my husband likes it so it works good for us.

We always eat a salad with our dinner and usually we make it into blended salad. We started this when the boys were young and we just got tired of eating salad all the time since it takes so long to chew and cut. My husband had the idea to stick it all in the blender and eat it like a cold soup. (We put half of an avocado in to thicken it.) So that is what we do now. We don't eat it because it tastes really good, but we can eat it really fast and then move on to the cooked stuff. Plus our young children who can't eat salad yet get all the benefits as well. I don't really recommend doing this unless you're really into this diet and are tired of eating so much salad but still want the benefits. ;) Otherwise, just make yourself a nice salad to go along with the meal, or make it the main dish as Doctor Fuhrman says.

Once a week or a couple times a month I like to make a fun dish that takes a little longer, like veggie pizza or vegan enchilladas. Otherwise dinner only takes me about 35 minutes to cook every night and the shopping list is really easy because we make the same thing every week. I love the simplicity of it all and we don't seem to get tired of eating these dishes.

When company comes I usually fix Taco Salad (on Sundays) or pasta with normal sauce for our guests. And don't worry,  I NEVER feed my guests blended salad. ;-)
